BBBEE is an integral part of Joest’s corporate strategy. Joest® has made BBBEE accreditation a key priority for 2010 and is currently in the process of preparing for BBBEE scorecard verification.
1. The board of directors of Joest is actively encouraging and supporting BBBEE and its active involvement in the management and day to day decision-making of the Company.
2. Joest actively encourages previously disadvantaged staff members to participate in training programmes to uplift and learn new skills required by the Company. The cost of such training is borne by Joest.
3. Joest’s procurement policy makes special provision to purchase from black owned businesses that meet the Joest quality, price and service level requirements, wherever possible.
4. The Joest Employment Equity Policy is applicable in all new appointments and preference is given to previous disadvantaged persons.
